They became the first nation to receive the rights through an open vote, with member associations voting 119 to 78 in favor of Brazil at Fifa’s congress in Bangkok on Friday.
This will be the first time a South American country has hosted the Women’s World Cup.
“Congratulations to Brazil,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated.
“We will host the best World Cup in Brazil. Many thanks also to the BNG bid team, who have been amazing.”
Both bids matched the hosting criteria, but Brazil scored higher on technical issues like as stadiums, accommodation, fan zones, and transportation in it.
