Scottie Scheffler’s arraignment for his arrest prior to the second round of the PGA Championship has been moved from Tuesday to June 3.
Scheffler’s attorney, Steve Romines, told news that his client will plead not guilty to the several counts stemming from what the golfer described as a “big misunderstanding” while attempting to enter Valhalla Golf Club before his play.
The delay is due to a scheduling difficulty for Romines, despite the fact that Scheffler was never supposed to attend the arraignment in Louisville.
Scheffler was arrested at Valhalla early Friday morning after failing to obey police commands, capping up a turbulent week at the season’s second major. John Mills, 69, was pronounced dead at the scene of police activity later.
