The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a heatwave advisory on Monday, predicting a notable increase in daytime temperatures from May 21 to 27 in several parts of the nation.
The public has been asked to take protective steps to shield themselves from the predicted extreme heat.
The PMD predicts that during this time, daytime temperatures in Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan will surge 4°C to 6°C above normal.
Temperatures in Sindh and Punjab are predicted to be 4°C to 6°C above average from May 21 to May 23, and then 6°C to 8°C above average from May 23 to May 27.
The majority of the country is experiencing continental air, which is adding to the higher temperatures, according to the synoptic conditions.
