According to the news, a man had his hernia surgery and later found that a medical specimen bag had been left inside his abdominal cavity.

In addition, the surgeon who performed the surgery in 2016 at Brighton’s Royal Sussex County Hospital left behind a portion of Tom Hadrys’s intestine that had been removed.
Newsnight was able to get a hospital incident report that stated the surgeon realized his errors while driving home from work.
Sussex Police are investigating at least 105 incidents of alleged medical negligence by two surgery teams at the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
The trust stated that its surgical teams’ efforts “are regularly and rigorously reviewed” and that “if our treatment falls short of our high standards, we take it.
