Sardar Salim Khan, the governor of Punjab, encouraged the provincial administration to examine the defamation bill that the legislature recently enacted on Thursday.
Speaking on the Capital Talk segment of Geo News, Governor Khan stated that the Punjab Assembly’s defamation bill needs to be reviewed because it is not the final word.
He suggested that the Punjab administration go over it again and strike out any offensive language.
The governor of Punjab further stated that the defamation bill has created a tempest in the nation and that, if necessary, he will attempt to resolve it by meeting with all parties involved.
In the face of a loud and organized opposition protest, the Punjab Assembly passed the Punjab Defamation Bill 2024 on Monday.
The Governor of Punjab asks the PML-N government to reconsider the defamation bill.
