The port city is expected to experience more than 100% of the monsoon rains in July and August. This is why Sindh Provencal Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Director General DG Salman Shah warned the concerned departments, Karachi Commissioner, KMC, KDA, and other organizations to ensure emergency plans are ready.
Commissioner Karachi chaired a meeting of interested institutions regarding the monsoon, during which PDMA DG Salman Shah issued a warning to the involved departments.
Salman Shah stated, “This year, from July to August, 100% more rain is expected.”
According to PDMA, there are 198 slope sites in Karachi, 29 of which are sensitive.
