As he prepares to resume his political career, former governor of Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan broke his seven-year silence by asserting unequivocally that the reunification of the MQM’s breakaway parties was the cause of the gap between leaders and people.
The former governor claimed that the merger of MQM Pakistan, Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP), and Tanzeem Bahali Committee of Farooq Sattar didn’t look natural and that many believed the decision was made under duress when speaking with leading media in Karachi via video link from Dubai.
“All of the MQM leaders ought to have had the opportunity to help the people when they were banding together.
The pick-and-choose approach sparked conflict, and a large number of people who didn’t bring any luggage stopped participating. It cut off MQM from its voter base,” he declared, announcing his plan to head back home.
Many people find this news shocking because Dr. Ibad has been residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since resigning as the governor of Sindh in 2016.
Even though he kept in touch with several of the city’s media, this was the first time Dr. Ibad had so extensive contact with them.
Previously, on May 19, this writer exclusively revealed to GEO News Urdu that Dr. Ibad had made the decision to return to Pakistani politics.
