Ahead of the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, Pakistani players improved significantly in the most recent International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I rankings.
Pakistan is currently engaged in a four-match Twenty20 International series with the reigning Twenty20 World champions, England, where its players have earned important rating points for their respective performances.
In the second Twenty20 International of the series, Fakhar Zaman struck for 45 runs off of 21 balls, propelling him up six spots to the 51st spot in the ICC T20I batting rankings.
In the meantime, Shaheen Afridi moved up three spots to tie Australia’s Adam Zampa for 11th place after returning with statistics of 3-36 in the second Twenty20 International.
After taking two wickets in the aforementioned match, Haris Rauf also moved up to 25th place. Interestingly, this was his return.
Moreover, star all-rounder Imad Wasim claimed two wickets, propelling him up 14 spots to the 38th spot in the bowling rankings.
After his bowling display, Wasim scored 22 runs off of 13 balls, moving up four spots to share 12th place with teammate Shadab Khan.
