On Thursday, the jury in the historic and unprecedented criminal trial of former President Trump in New York will resume deliberations for a second day.
Judge Juan Merchan gave the jurors instructions to weigh the accusations made against the departing president and the front-runner for the Republican nomination.
Merchan gave the jury instructions not to discuss or look into the case on Wednesday afternoon.
Alvin Bragg, the district attorney for Manhattan, has accused Trump of 34 counts of first-degree business record fabrication. For every charge, Trump has entered a not guilty plea.
The defense in NY v. Trump claims that the prosecution ‘did not meet the burden of proof’ and that the former president is ‘innocent’.

The jury handed the judge two notes during Wednesday’s deliberations, one of which included a request to hear his instructions regarding.
The jury also requested to hear testimony from Michael Cohen, the former Trump lawyer, and David Pecker, the former CEO of American Media, Inc.
Merchan stated that the required testimony was still being sought for by the court. Merchan calculated that reading back would take about thirty minutes.
Attorneys argued over one request, but they agreed on sections of the transcripts for three. They agreed with Pecker’s evidence regarding his phone call with Trump, his choice about McDougal’s life rights, and Cohen’s account of the Trump Tower meeting. They disagreed, although, with Pecker’s exact evidence regarding that meeting. A few sentences were still up for debate at the end of the day, so the judge decided to review them overnight.
