The Pakistani rupee fell against the US dollar in the interbank market on Thursday, marking the third straight day of losses for the local currency.
As of closing, the local currency was trading at 278.50, down Re0.10 versus the US dollar, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The rupee had dropped Re0.10 to settle at 278.40 on Wednesday.
Pakistan’s gold prices dropped on Thursday in tandem with a decline in the global exchange rate. The price of gold per tola on the local market decreased by Rs 1,500 to reach Rs 24,200.
The 10-gram gold was sold for Rs206,790, having dropped by Rs1,286. The All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) disclosed the pricing.
The rupee drops further versus the USD.
