In anticipation of Eidul Azha, the Punjab police have devised a plan to safeguard the public as incidents of animal theft and other crimes rise.

Inflation is one of the main causes of the high crime rate, among other things.

Many individuals go to cattle markets in order to buy sacrificial animals with cash. The district heads have all received information from the Punjab police regarding their crime reduction plan.

To make it easier for people to buy and sell sacrificial animals, the Punjabi government is establishing several marketplaces in various locations. These markets can attract thieves who target vendors and purchasers carrying large amounts of cash because of the anticipated flood of people.

Security strategy for Punjab police

Additional Inspector General Shahzada Zulfiqar spoke with News.

He added that snap screening will be made sure to prevent (criminals) and give market goers and animal vendors a sense of security.

In order to protect sellers and buyers, he claimed that all district and divisional police chiefs had received instructions to make extra security preparations at locations where animals are sold as sacrifices. He declared, “Animal sales will only be permitted at the designated points.”

In addition, he stated that members of banned organizations would face harsh measures.

He continued, “Measures will also be put in place to control cattle theft and robberies during the Eid days.”

Community watch to prevent theft

Experienced vendor Atta Muhammad claimed he had been selling his animals in the textile capital of Jhang to Faisalabad.
