Tavaris Williams, a player on “Wheel of Fortune,” surprised even himself with his now-viral answer to a riddle.
Williams told News , “I just tried to beat my contestants by buzzing in first and letting my brain catch up.”
“And I saw the R, B, and T when my mind was prepared to speak. I chose “Right in the butt.” And after [anchor Pat Sajak] said, “No, oh, that was the worst feeling,” he laughed further.
X-RATED REACTION TO THE “WHEEL OF FORTUNE” CONTESTANT: “WILL BE PLAYED FOR ETERNITY” GOES VIRAL
As the letters for the sentence were revealed, host Vanna White was at the puzzle board, where she read, “_ _ _ _ /I _ /T _ E /B _ _ T!”
Swiftly entering the room, Williams declared with assurance, “Right in the butt.”
Following his response, there was a brief moment of stillness before audience laughing, a “What?” from competitor Tyra, and a resounding “no” from Sajak as Williams’ expression of complete surprise changed.
This was the right response: “T H I S / I S / T H E / B E S T!”
Not one of those common sense [thoughts] like, “Well, the word “right” didn’t have enough letters.” “This is a family-oriented program.” “With fifty monitors above you, bright lights, a hundred stagehands, producers, and sound guys, none of that is going through your mind,” he remarked.
