A heavy chain necklace probably saved the man’s life by keeping a gunshot from entering his neck.
According to Colorado state police, the gunshot occurred during a dispute.
Authorities in Commerce City, which is close to Denver, shared images of the wounded chain on Facebook, writing, “We would say he really avoided a bullet, but in actuality, he LODGED a bullet.”
“This silver chain, approximately 10 mm in width, is likely the only reason the victim of a shooting we responded to yesterday is still alive.”
At the incident, the unidentified suspect in the gunman’s identity was taken into custody and accused of attempting to kill.
Although the necklace had a silver hue, the police observed that it was probably not pure silver.
The Commerce City Police Department made a joke. “Maybe think twice before you knock a knock-off.”
“Absolutely amazing,” it said.
