Lib Dems promise to prioritize healthcare and the NHS on their platform.

The party leader Sir Ed Davey is expected to unveil the strategy on Monday. It includes initiatives to increase cancer survival rates, hire 8,000 more general practitioners, and provide free personal care for the elderly and disabled.
An additional £9.4 billion would be needed annually, part of which would come from capital gains tax reform. CGT is levied at a rate that is lower than income tax on the proceeds from the sale of assets like stocks or real estate.

There is a common argument that this difference allows wealthy individuals, who frequently make more money from assets than from income, to pay lower taxes.

Additionally, the Lib Dem manifesto will pledge not to raise national insurance, VAT, or income tax.
According to Sir Ed Davey, in an interview with News, “This is the Liberal Democrats’ healthcare election. People around the nation have been speaking with us, and the health service is at the top of their lists of worries in many different domains. Thus, the NHS and care have unquestionably become central to our manifesto.”

900,000 additional underprivileged children will receive free school lunches, with plans to expand this to all primary school students as soon as public funds permit.
