ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that there will be minor rain in a few areas of the nation during the course of the next 24 hours, but that the majority of the nation will have a protracted dry winter.

The PMD states that while a fresh round of rain is anticipated in the southern regions, certain regions of the nation are anticipated to experience a cold wave.

Irfan Virk, the PMD Director of Forecasting, told the state news agency that this week will be dry and cold with little prospect of significant rain in the upcoming days. He said that there may be light rain in a few places of Balochistan over the next 24 hours.

He said that until the next rainstorm, there will be patches of fog on the country’s plains that range in density from normal to dense.

He warned people to exercise caution because heavy fog is predicted to persist throughout this week over the plain regions of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Sindh, and Islamabad.

The PMD daily prediction states that the majority of the country will see cold, dry weather during the next 24 hours, with extremely cold temperatures predicted in the north and north-central Balochistan.

The majority of the nation was under continental air, according to the synoptic condition. Over western Balochistan, a shallow westerly wave was prevalent.

The plain areas of KP, upper Sindh, Punjab, and Islamabad are likely to continue to experience dense fog and haze.

Drizzling is most likely to occur in isolated locations in Makran’s coastal regions and southwest Balochistan.

Most of the country saw chilly, dry weather over the past 24 hours, with extremely cold temperatures in the north and in northern Balochistan.

While rain fell in Dalbandin 08mm, dense fog/smog covered plain portions of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Sindh, and Islamabad.

Leh (-11 C), Skardu (-09), Gilgit (-06), Gupis (-06), Astore (-05 C), Kalam (-05 C), and Srinagar (-05 C) had the lowest recorded temperatures.
