On August 3, at Oakwell Stadium, super-middleweight Zak Chelli will defend his Commonwealth and British titles against Callum Simpson.
The 26-year-old Londoner Chelli will mount his first defense of the titles he took home in January. Out of 15 professional fights, he has won 15 and lost 2.
Simpson, who has stopped ten of his 14 opponents, will face off in front of his home crowd at Barnsley Football Club.
Simpson, 27, declared, “This is the fight I’ve been waiting for.”
This is my time to uphold my reputation and honor my hometown. I absolutely need everyone in Barnsley and surrounding areas to support me and turn Oakwell into a stronghold.”
The card will be held in front of the East Stand, and the stadium will only hold a certain number of people.
“Simpson is too scared to challenge me for my titles in London so I’ll show him what a real fighter is and fight him on his home turf,” Chelli stated.
