The 62-year-old, the younger brother of former England player Gary Lineker, celebrated his friend on Instagram this week after a video of him fighting outside a bar in the early hours of Wednesday morning went viral earlier this week.
It was said that after a fight, another man punched him in the jaw, knocking him unconscious for a few minutes.
With a “very special thanks” to his friend Daniel Onions, the proprietor of the cafe, Wayne re-shared a picture of himself sipping on a few raw juices.
Wayne expressed his appreciation to him “for looking after me for many hours after the event took place, taking me [to] hospital, and making sure I got home safe and ok” .
Resharing his post, Onions added a comment that read, “What friends are for.”
A brief video with the Celebs Go Dating star and two of his resort staff making jokes about how “sometimes, you’ve just got to take it on the chin” was later posted to Instagram.
Wayne wrote: “Hahaha gotta see the funny side,” annotating the video to demonstrate that the blow hadn’t affected his sense of humor. Accept it with a smile.”
