Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz stated on Friday that rain is likely to hit Karachi’s suburbs on June 22 or 23, as the nation braces for “exceptional rains” this year.
Rain is predicted in the vicinity of the Super Highway, according to Sarfaraz, who also mentioned that “more than normal” showers could fall in Sindh, which includes Karachi.
The past few weeks have seen a dry and hot stretch throughout Sindh, including Karachi. However, today’s rain and thunderstorms have broken the pattern, bringing relief to Larkana, Shikarpur, Shahdakot, Jacobabad, and other sections of the province.
The rain dropped the temperature, giving the residents much-needed relief from the sweltering heat.
In addition, the chief meteorologist stated that the monsoon may start in Punjab and Kashmir on June 29 or 30, although it is more likely to start in Sindh after July 5 or 6.
According to a weather analyst who spoke with Geo News earlier this week, the monsoon season in Pakistan might start between June 27 and July 4.
According to experts, this year may bring “more than usual rains” to Karachi and other southern Sindh regions.
