ISLAMABAD The political leadership of Pakistan was counseled by a top Chinese official on Friday to put aside disputes because “internal stability is imperative for any nation to develop.”
“Development requires stability within the nation in a tumultuous world with growing uncertainty. Pakistan is carefully sailing through tumultuous rivers while facing complicated internal and external obstacles, according to Liu Jianchao, Minister of the Communist Party of China’s (IDCPC) International Department.
Jianchao spoke during the third meeting of the Pakistan-China Joint Consultative Mechanism (JCM) of the Political Parties on the CPEC, which he co-chaired with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
Present at the event were leaders of all of the main political parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Top leaders including Ahsan Iqbal of the PML-N, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Emir Fazlur Rehman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, and Barrister Ali Zafar and Raoof Hasan of PTI were there.
China and Pakistan have strong diplomatic connections, and they have invested billions of dollars in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and collaborated in several fields to strengthen Islamabad’s capacities.
However, the security situation with China alerting the Pakistani side of its worries has hampered the flagship project’s progress in recent years.
According to the Chinese official, political and social stability can only be ensured by a nation’s political parties working together to promote sustainable growth.
And China has been working very hard to keep a healthy balance for all these years.
