ISLAMABAD The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the government’s main ally, has had all of its requests met by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led government, sources said News on Sunday.

The change occurred during the third round of negotiations between the PPP and PML-N negotiating committees, following the latter’s expression of worry over not being taken seriously on the federal budget.

According to the sources, “the government will favor the PPP for development funds and appointments on administrative posts in Punjab.”

PPP participants at the forum were Hassan Murtaza, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Ali Haider Gillani, and Raja Pervez Ashraf. In contrast, Ahmed Khan, the speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Rana Sanaullah, and Khawaja Saad Rafique were among the PML-N representatives.

According to the sources, the PPP’s requests for district administrations, law officer appointments, representation on various boards and authorities, early local body elections, and development money distribution equivalent to those of PML-N MPs have been agreed by the PML-N.

According to them, the PPP has requested the formation of a second secretary to the chief minister secretariat, whose sole responsibility would be to address party-specific problems.

According to the sources, the Punjab government would select revenue officers, district police officers, and district deputy commissioners after consulting with the PPP in the regions where the political party enjoys a sizable following.
