At least four children were killed and two more were injured after a large fire broke out at a two-family home in Connecticut on Tuesday, according to the firefighters who witnessed the entire house catch fire.

An adult who was watching the kids in the Quality Avenue home was also among the injured. According to officials, the four deceased were members of the same family.

According to the local officials, one of the three rescued individuals had severe burns, and the other two had minor injuries.

Those residing on the opposite side of the house swiftly managed to escape unharmed, according to officials.

There were pets inside when the fire broke out, according to the authorities. The puppies perished, but three of the dogs were saved.

First Selectman Tim Keeney Keeney remarked, “It’s a tremendous loss for the town,” and added that “[Firefighters] had difficulty getting into the house because the doors had things in front of them.”

On one side of the house, eight individuals were living, according to the officials.

According to Somers Fire Chief John Roache, “Firefighters found two youngsters as soon as they entered the building. One passed away immediately, while the other passed away at Johnson Memorial Hospital.”

The superintendent of the schools where the deceased youngsters were enrolled stated that assistance would be given to them in their time of loss.

In a statement, Somers Public Schools Superintendent Sam Galloway said, “Our counseling staff will provide support as our Somers Public Schools community works through this tragic event.”

“Surreal defeat. I have lived here my entire life, and I am aware of a tragedy the town hasn’t experienced in a long time,” Keeney remarked.

Roache stated: “One firefighter suffered burns while fighting the fire and was released after being treated.”

“Everyone in front of the home was quite engaged. Right up to the second story is the first floor. restricted entry. quite challenging to enter. The effort made by the crews to enter and perform some rescues was amazing. They extracted victims by making multiple grabs, according to Roache.

According to Roache, the house was built in an older style and had multiple hidden rooms, which allowed the fire to spread quickly. It took a lot of work to put out the fire at 12:56 in the morning.

After starting an inquiry, the authorities determined that there was no criminal behavior to blame for the fire.
