Older automobiles are becoming less and less able to operate in low-emission city centers; nevertheless, Everrati, an Oxfordshire company situated in Upper Heyford, is replacing gasoline engines and mechanical drivetrains that were developed more than 50 years ago with batteries.

The most recent Everrati prototype is a famed two-seat sports car from 1964 called the Mercedes Pagoda, which was once owned by John Lennon, John Travolta, and Harry Styles.
The vehicle was created in a covert workshop located on a former US Air Force base.
Since each car is made to order, they are not inexpensive. Auctions of vintage cars typically fetch around £200,000 for a decent Pagoda. For the restoration of the entire car to showroom condition and the replacement of the engine with a battery, a buyer pays Everrati around £330,000.
Three years ago, Everrati produced its first automobile. It now has twenty on the road, and twelve more are under construction in Oxfordshire and at a California location.
