LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz, Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is the owner of properties valued at about Rs842.58 million, according to a Thursday report from Geo News.

According to the information that Maryam, the chief organizer of the PML-N, included with her nomination papers for the NA-119 seat, she possesses more than 1500 kanals of land in Lahore. Her assets increased by little over Rs4 million in a single year, according to the figures.

Maryam has a master’s degree in English literature, according to the documents. She owes her brother Hassan Nawaz more than Rs. 28.9 million and has no car of her own.

The three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter disclosed in court documents that she owns gold valued at Rs1.75 million. She has over Rs. 10 million spread over multiple bank accounts, though. She added that she owns interests in several companies worth Rs12.2 million.

The Pakistani Election Commission (ECP) authorized Maryam’s nomination papers from several constituencies on December 30.

According to a representative for Maryam, the returning officers (ROs) had accepted her nomination papers from several Lahore and Sargodha constituencies. However, the spokesman also stated that Maryam will run for general elections from the constituencies that the party would select.

The Sharif family scion had filed nomination papers for four Punjab Assembly seats (PP-159, PP-160, PP-165, and PP-80) as well as two National Assembly constituencies (NA-119 and NA-120).
