The world has already witnessed the introduction of robots in a number of industries, such as healthcare, film, and autos. The most recent to join this list is the culinary sector, where the first AI-powered restaurant in history opened its doors in a city in Southern California.

According to Los Angeles Magazine, the totally autonomous restaurant CaliExpress became a burger-flipping craze after it launched in Pasadena in late December.

The dystopian project’s creators, Cali Group, partnered with Miso Robotics to establish Flippy, the first AI-powered fry station in history, before opening the store.

The tech business PopID, which uses biometrics for ordering, and the holding company also partnered. This is a triple collaboration that would make The Terminator proud.

Using state-of-the-art technology, the restaurant completely automates all of its fry and grill stations. Guests can even peek in on the robots as they prepare their personalized meals, creating a “pseudo-museum experience.”

According to John Miller, CEO of PopID and board member of Miso Robotics, “to our knowledge, this is the first operating restaurant where both ordering and every single cooking process are fully automated.” Miller made this statement in a press release.

He continued: “The marriage of these various technologies to create the most autonomous restaurant in the world is the culmination of years of research, development, and investment in a family of revolutionary companies.”

The space reportedly has experimental 3D-printed “artefacts,” as well as movable robot arms from “retired” Flippys. The eatery makes use of some of the newest technology available today to
Rich Hull, the CEO of Miso Robotics, makes sure the eatery is anything from dull.

“AI-powered, robotic order-taking and cooking enables the major chains that feed America to substantially improve quality, consistency and speed,” Hull stated.
