KARACHI: When a “overspeeding” bus flipped over on Sunday in the Mauripur neighborhood of Karachi, at least seven people—including women and children—were murdered and thirty more were injured.
After hitting a trailer truck close to Mauripur Truck Adda, the bus flipped, according to emergency personnel. Four women and four children were among the deaths, according to the report, while six to seven more injured individuals were listed as critically injured.
According to the police, the victims of the collision were heading for a picnic when the vehicle’s speed exceeded the posted limit.
The bodies and the injured were sent to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal procedures and treatment, respectively, said Pakistani rescue personnel. Later, the bodies were moved to the mortuary of Sohrab Goth.
