As Trump celebrates his “big win,” Biden claims that presidents can “ignore the law” due to the Supreme Court’s immunity verdict.

According to Joe Biden, the historic decision granting immunity to previous presidents breaks the tenet that "there are no kings in America" and gives the president the authority to "ignore the law".

He was commenting in response to the US Supreme Court’s ruling that official activities performed while in office are immune from criminal prosecution, but unofficial acts are not.
Before the law, we are all equal. Even the president of the United States is subject to the law, Mr. Biden stated.

Donald Trump, who is suspected of attempting to fraudulently overturn his 2020 election loss, has won this ruling.

Mr. Biden continued, “I know that, as I have for the past three and a half years, I will respect the limits of presidential power.”

However, this will give any president—including Donald Trump—the freedom to disobey the law.

The Supreme Court sent Trump’s lawsuit back to a lower court so that it may determine how to implement the decision without making a decision on the issue’s merits.

It now has to determine if Trump was responding to the accusations in an official or private capacity.

According to President Biden, the ex-president is now “highly unlikely” to go on trial before US voters have another chance to voice their opinions in four months as a result of Monday’s decision.
