Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, filed an appeal challenging her victory, and the Lahore High Court Election Tribunal heard her response.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) attorney requested an extension of time to turn in the original Form 45 record.
Why the forms were not submitted to the ECP website was a question posed by LHC Justice Anwar Hussain. The hearing was postponed until the final week of July at the judge’s request.
Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, provided the response to the tribunal. On behalf of Maryam Nawaz, Barrister Asadullah Chatta Advocate submitted a response.
“The appeal is not hearable; it cannot be tried under the law,” the judge said, adding that the tribunal needed clarification.
Judge Anwar Hussain asked, “How many polling stations were there in Constituency PP-159?” ECP lawyer said, “102 registered polling stations as per the polling scheme.”
The Presiding Officer will sign Form 45. Justice Anwar Hussain said, “Candidates from other constituencies will also have the same form.”
