Unidentified men opened fire on brick kiln workers on Monday in Laki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing at least three of them, according to authorities.
For medico-legal procedures, the bodies were moved to the district headquarters hospital. Police have gathered evidence from the crime scene and begun an investigation into the occurrence. It was still unknown why the killings had occurred.
The northwest province’s hotspots have been Lakki Marwat and the nearby Bannu district following an increase in terrorist activity in Pakistan. The Counter-Terrorism Department center in Bannu was evacuated in 2022 following a four-day siege during which extremists held law enforcement officers captive.
