Following the crush at a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district, some 125 miles southeast of the nation’s capital New Delhi, over 80 more people were sent to hospitals.
The event occurred “due to overcrowding at the time when people were trying to leave the venue,” according to Ashish Kumar, the district administration.

An event that was allowed to hold 80,000 people saw roughly 250,000 attendees, according to the news agency.

“There were only one or two exits from the improvised tent where the event was hosted. Generally, eight to ten well designated exits leading into open spaces should be present.”

There was reportedly only one tiny egress accessible.

news agency-captured video ANI displayed bodies arranged in cars and stuffed into the beds of trucks.

There was a little exit at the location, an unidentified witness told India Today. “As we tried to exit towards a field, suddenly a commotion started, and we didn’t know what to do.”

Jyoti, a different survivor, informed the local media that the stampede happened right after the tragedy.

She stated: “There was no way out and people were falling on each other.”
