There is a forecast warning of heavy rainfall and possible flooding in several parts of Pakistan, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The warning emphasizes the necessity of being watchful and taking preventative action to avoid losing people or property.
According to the NDMA, there will be a lot of rain in the northeastern regions of Punjab, the Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, southern Sindh, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Urban floods and a surge in river water levels could result from these rains, particularly if India releases water from its dams.
With a noticeable rise in river water flow, the forecast includes a warning of potential flooding conditions in metropolitan areas. Additionally, the NDMA has issued a warning about the possibility of landslides in the hilly regions of Khyber and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Both locals and visitors to these areas may be seriously endangered by these landslides.
The NDMA has issued a warning to the public to proceed with utmost caution in light of the prediction. It is advised that people refrain from wading into floodwaters and stepping over flood rails. It is especially encouraged for tourists to stay away from needless travel in order to avoid any unfortunate situations.
In the meantime, monsoon rains are expected in the majority of Punjab’s districts, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). It states that there’s a good chance these showers will stick throughout the province till July 7.
