James was pulled out of the back-to-back against the Golden State Warriors due to “trace swelling” in his left knee, according to a post made on X by Lakers reporter Mike Trudell.
However, Lakers supporters won’t have to wait long to see James return to the floor because he is anticipated to participate in Wednesday’s California Classic Game against the Miami Heat.
On Saturday night, James—who the Lakers selected with the No. 55 pick in the NBA Draft this year—started his first game as a professional. He did not, however, play to his best ability in the 108-94 defeat.
James played 22 minutes on the court and only managed to shoot 2 of 9 for 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. He was unable to make any of his two free throw attempts and missed all three of his three-point attempts.
With one goal in mind, LeBron James returns to the Olympic basketball court: “WIN A GOLD MEDAL.”
In terms of defense, James recorded his first theft of the Summer League despite finishing the game with a minus-15 rating.
