Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is currently serving a jail sentence. According to Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, the advisor on political and public affairs, Khan is allegedly planning plans within the prison to bring about further “political chaos” in the nation.

In an interview with “Naya Pakistan,” Sanaullah stated that the PTI founder was not allowed by the court to host political gatherings in the Adiala jail.

“PTI founder is not allowed to make such plans to create chaos while sitting in jail,” he declared, adding that the claims of such plotting being made in the jail are supported by documentation that is available to the relevant authorities.

However, the PM’s adviser stated that “those who are responsible and performing duties there have them” despite the government’s lack of audio or video evidence of the preparation.

The former interior minister made her statement after the leaders of the former ruling party claimed that, after spending several hours outside the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi earlier this week, they were not allowed to visit the party’s imprisoned founder.

The top leader of the PML-N expressed his opinion that the Imran-founded party was wrong to hold a power show in Muharram, in reference to the previous ruling party’s scheduled rally in Islamabad. “The PTI wants to create political chaos via a public rally.”

He rejected the government’s influence in the decision, calling the PTI’s license to hold the Islamabad demonstration rescinded as “an administrative decision”.
