Former Pakistani cricket captain Shahid Afridi claimed he could not “comprehend” Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq’s recent exclusion from the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) selection panel.
The national team’s poor performance at the T20 World Cup 2024 led to the dismissal of Abdul Razzaq and Riaz, according to insiders. The PCB management had lost faith in the two players and had not been considering their input for some time.
Afridi, 47, finally spoke with reporters on Wednesday about the recent “surgery” that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi performed on the selection body, which included removing the former cricket players.
When asked about PCB’s most recent move, Afridi, who is now competing with Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends 2024 in England, told media he did not comprehend it.
