Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir was awarded the Military Medal Order of Bahrain First Class by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Monday in honor of his noteworthy efforts and contributions to the improvement of bilateral ties between Pakistan and Bahrain.
The army chief, who is currently on a two-day official visit to Bahrain, met with the top brass of the kingdom, including King Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of Bahrain Defence Forces Field Marshal Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and Commander of Bahrain National Guard General Shaikh Mohammad bin Isa Al Khalifa, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the statement, topics of mutual interest were covered during the sessions, including bilateral military and security cooperation.
“The dignitaries praised Pakistan Army’s accomplishments in counterterrorism and ongoing efforts for peace and stability in the region.”
It said that the COAS received a hearty greeting and a guard of honor on the 27th Raising Day of the Bahrain National Guard, where he was also the primary guest. Additionally, he saw a demonstration pertaining to a counterterrorism drill.
The Pakistan Army provided the Bahrain National Guard with extremely competent training in the military and counterterrorism sectors, for which the head of the Bahrain National Guard expressed his gratitude and admiration.
