ISLAMABAD: The National Emergencies Operation Center of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has predicted that heavy monsoon currents will enter Pakistan’s higher regions from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bangal.
According to a statement released by the NDMA on Tuesday, these monsoon currents might cause a string of rainstorms to occur throughout the nation throughout the course of the next day and possibly even until July 27.
It also predicted showers and thunderstorms to batter Sindh’s coastal regions tonight.
These regions comprise the following: Larkana Division, Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Islamkot, Umarkot, Mirpur Khas, Nawabshah, Sukkur, and the neighboring territories.
In the meantime, the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) predicted heavy to moderate rainfall in Rahim Yar Khan, Neelum, and Rohi in southern Punjab and Azad Kashmir.Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Hangu, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, and parts of Gilgit Baltistan are also expected to experience heavy to moderate rainfall.
The NDMA has advised people to take the appropriate safety measures to lessen the possibility of landslides and flooding brought on by the rains.
In addition, it issued warnings for landslides in hilly regions, rising water levels in streams and rivers, and flood conditions in a number of metropolitan locations.
In order to guarantee a prompt reaction to any emerging circumstances, the NDMA directed all pertinent agencies to notify Emergency Response Teams and mobilize resources.
