The 57-year-old Choudary, according to the prosecution, was the leader of Al Muhajiroun, an organization that was outlawed as a terrorist organization more than ten years ago, and he also urged people to back the group. Choudary refuted the accusations.

Following a six-week trial at Woolwich Crown Court, he was found guilty of leading and being a member of a terrorist organisation and of speaking at gatherings to promote support for an organisation that was banned.

Head of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command Commander Dominic Murphy stated that Choudary was going to receive “a significant sentence.” On July 30, he is scheduled to be sentenced.

He was put on trial with 29-year-old Canadian citizen Khaled Hussein, who was detained when he landed at Heathrow Airport on the same day as Choudary in 2023.According to the prosecution, the 57-year-old Choudary led Al Muhajiroun, an organization that was outlawed as a terrorist group more than ten years ago, and urged others to provide their support to the group. Choudary refuted the allegations.

Choudary is expected to serve “a significant sentence,” according to Commander Dominic Murphy, Head of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command. On July 30, he is scheduled to get his punishment.
