In an attempt to outperform the popular Google Maps, Apple released “Apple Maps” as a beta on the web on Wednesday.
The Verge reports that Apple users may now use the web version of the app on a desktop or mobile browser to check ratings and reviews of various locations, as well as driving and walking directions.
Additionally, users can tap the beta.maps.apple.com website to access the maps.
This website offers functions including browsing guides, placing food orders straight from maps, discovering new cities, and receiving company updates. Apple plans to release more features in the upcoming months, such as Look Around.
In the meantime, the web version is currently accessible in English and may be found on any iOS website, including Safari and Chrome.Apple Maps has been improving since it was first released for the iPhone in 2012. New capabilities include offline navigation, EV routing, bicycle instructions, multi-stop routing, and detailed city maps.
Developers were the only ones who could access earlier iterations of Apple Maps, which they used to make maps for websites like DuckDuckGo via APIs.
