Omar Ayub, the secretary general of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated on Thursday that while the government of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) desired to have a face-to-face meeting between the Pakistan Army and PTI, his party and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir would not permit this to occur.
After seeing PTI founder Imran Khan in the Adiala jail, Ayub told the media in Islamabad that the “Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government” had collapsed and that the country should prepare for early general elections. He asserted that the country’s advancement could only come about through fresh elections.
This declaration was sent to the country by the PTI leader as a message from Khan. These kinds of claims are meaningless, nevertheless. On the news program “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath,” the PML-N leader stated, “But we can see that some things are being done.”
“They [PTI] may state the things differently in the press conference, but we are aware of what is happening,” he declared.
In their secret meetings, the PTI founder allegedly told the party workers that a deal had been reached and that they should get ready for new elections in November, as soon as the new chief justice takes office, according to the former security czar.
