Governor Roy Cooper of North Carolina withdrew from the competition to serve as Kamala Harris’ running partner in the upcoming elections.
According to The New York Times, the governor declared this to be official by sharing it on his X handle.
It was unclear, though, until Cooper’s remarks was made public on Monday night.
Cooper’s statement said, “I firmly support Vice President Harris’s campaign for president.” “I felt honored to be given the opportunity to play this part, and I know she will win.
The North Carolina Democrat continued, “This just wasn’t the right time for North Carolina and for me to potentially be on a national ticket.”As I’ve said from the beginning, she has an outstanding list of people from which to choose, and we’ll all work to make sure she wins.”

Senior political analyst Mitch Kokai of the John Locke Foundation told News that he thought Harris would be a good fit for the governor of North Carolina.
Cooper was deemed “the brightest star of the Democrats in North Carolina in recent years” by the expert.
Roy Cooper and Kamala Harris are expected to be well-liked among Democrats for a number of reasons. Above all, Cooper contributes to North Carolina’s 16 electoral votes.
