The 97th Academy Awards will not be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and John Mulaney.
Kimmel, 56, has hosted the Academy Awards four times before and has declined to do so again in 2025.
The event was hosted by Kimmel in 2017 and 2018, after which it was host-free in 2019 and 2021. Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer, and Regina Hall hosted the 2022 event.
Returning for 2023, he scored the greatest ratings for the show in four years with 19.5 million viewers for his 2024 performance.
In addition, he hosts the game program Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on ABC.
Mulaney, 41, also turned down the opportunity when he was contacted in January to thank him for hosting the Academy’s 14th Governors Awards.
