A family in Kohat’s Old Bazid Khel neighborhood tragically lost eleven members after their cellar was flooded by heavy rains.
Six children, three women, and two men—all from the same family—were among the dead, according to a statement released by the rescue authorities.
They added that family members were forced to sleep in the basement due to the unexpected inflow of rainfall into the home.
Sources claim that thus far, 11 bodies have been uncovered; initially, they were looking for a girl who went missing but was subsequently located.
Additionally, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed his grief over the tragic deaths.
An alert for flooding was released by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
