Shahid Afridi, the former captain of Pakistan, has voiced his displeasure with India’s unwillingness to take part in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is slated to take place in Pakistan.

Afridi berated the Indian team’s uncertainty in a Monday speech to the media in Karachi, saying that they should not play at all if they are unwilling to play in Pakistan.

Following continuous conjecture over the location of the esteemed competition, Afridi made his remarks. According to reports, the Indian team may decide against visiting Pakistan and instead choose a neutral location.

“Team Pakistan had travelled to various Indian cities even under challenging conditions and in the face of threats,” Afridi said. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is anticipated to discuss this matter at the next International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting in Sri Lanka. According to a report released by Sports Tak on July 6, the Indian government would eventually make the decision.

The PCB is unwavering in its resolve to hold all Champions Trophy matches in Pakistan even in the face of these doubts. The board has started making arrangements and will host matches in three cities: Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi.

The PCB has set aside Rs12.80 billion for the refurbishment of important stadiums, including as the International Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, and the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
