Police authorities in Chunian acted quickly after learning of an alleged rape case involving the station house officer (SHO) of the City police station.
The young girl who was the victim lodged a complaint, claiming that she had applied to the SHO to open a case against her fiancé. She claimed that the SHO had summoned her to Rasheed Garden, where he had sexually assaulted her.
In addition, she claimed that the SHO accepted a Rs 600,000 payment in exchange for not filing her case.
After learning about the occurrence, the Kasur district police officer (DPO) suspended the SHO while an inquiry was conducted. An investigative team led by SP Investigation has been established to guarantee a comprehensive and unbiased probe. DSP Legal and DSP City are members of the team.
