Waqar Younis, a former fast bowler, has taken up the role of Cricket Advisor to the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Chairman Mohsin Naqvi made this choice, using his constitutional authority to assign the 52-year-old to this critical position.
Prior to taking office on Tuesday, Australian resident Waqar Younis had a lengthy conversation with Chairman Naqvi.
Waqar Younis, who is well-known for his work as head coach and bowling coach for the Pakistan cricket team, offers a lot of expertise to this advisory position.
The eminent cricket commentator, former fast bowler, and head coach will be in charge of different areas of the Pakistan cricket squad.
Among his duties include overseeing cricket matters both domestically and internationally and collaborating with the national team.The appointment of Younis has been enthusiastically received by the cricket community, who see his honest and amiable demeanor as a beneficial influence for Pakistani cricket.
Throughout his bowling career, Younis has amassed an impressive 22 five-wicket haul in an innings and five 10-wicket hauls in Test matches. His best bowling numbers however, were 7 for 76.
