The highest disaster management body in the nation issued a warning on Sunday, stating that Balochistan and southern Punjab may experience high to extremely high levels of flash flooding in the days to come based on the most recent hydrometeorological conditions.
The National Emergencies Operation Center of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) released the notice.
The warning comes in the wake of recent floods in Balochistan, which have left 32 people injured and at least 12 dead as the province continues to be lashed by monsoon rains.
Major roadways were inundated by torrential rains, resulting in flooding that damaged 263 houses—91 of which were destroyed—and blocked off many localities, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The warning states that local nullahs and hill torrents in the divisions of Zhob, Kalat, Nasirabad, and Sibbi are anticipated.
