Independent Senator Faisal Vawda has connected the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to the military’s arrest of former chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hamid. He claims that this is just the beginning and there would be many more arrests in the future.
The former head of ISI was arrested, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), which also claimed that the army had detained him due to accusations of stealing assets and taking land from a private housing society’s owner.
“Complying with the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, a detailed court of inquiry was undertaken by the Pakistan Army to ascertain the correctness of complaints in the Top City Case made against Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hamid,” the media arm of the army stated.
