On Sunday night, Oliver Marmon, a.k.a. Olly, fell out of the window of the Hind Hotel in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
Emergency services were called to the site just after 11.30pm, and the 33-year-old was declared dead.
Hensley, who was a part of the boyband Union J, which made an appearance on the X Factor in 2012, announced in September that the couple will be getting married later this year on Instagram.
“14 years together and 1 year until “I do”,” Hensley, 34, wrote with a picture of himself pecking Mr. Marmon’s cheek. We will eventually be Mr. and Mrs. in 365 days, and for that, I am eternally grateful and excited.”
“Best week with my man and nine weeks and counting until we say I do!” Mr. Marmon said in a post three weeks ago.
Following the findings of a forensic post-mortem on Tuesday, police announced that their first investigation into the death—which they had classified as a murder—had been closed.
According to Northamptonshire Police, a 34-year-old male who had been detained in relation to the event was freed without being charged.
