Star batsman Babar Azam of Pakistan will bat at number four against Bangladesh in the first Test match played at home, sources revealed Geo News on Thursday.
The sources claim that captain Shan Masood will bat at number three and that Abdullah Shafiq’s opening position is safe.
The reports also mentioned that Muhammad Huraira, a batter, is a solid contender to make his debut.
Pakistan and Bangladesh will play two ICC World Test Championship matches in Rawalpindi and Karachi, from August 21 to August 25 and August 30 to September 3, respectively.
According to the sources, Pakistan will deploy three fast bowlers and one spinner in the opening Test match against Bangladesh because the pitch is favorable for bowlers.
