“The Fly”: The man being sought after has gone missing and is “dead in the water”; how could he be avoiding capture?

French gang lord "The Fly" is still at large three months after being unexpectedly sprung from custody in a breathtaking, brutal ambush. The search for him is "dead in the water."

Since heavily armed individuals ambushed the vehicle carrying Mohamed Amra to prison and killed two prison guards in the incident, Mohamed Amra has remained at large.
It is suspected that the 30-year-old, a convicted drug dealer from northern France, was engaged in murders in Marseille and Spain.

During the incident in Rouen, Amra was taken away by men wearing balaclavas and armed with automatic rifles; it took about two minutes to liberate him.

Three months later, it doesn’t appear that officials are any closer to capturing him or the others who carried out the lethal ambush.
The investigations and the police have come to a standstill for the time being. According to Wilfried Fonck, national secretary of the French Prison Guards Union, “it’s dead in the water.”

The lack of swift arrests irritates everyone who works in the criminal justice system.

We’re all waiting for it, and right now, all our coworkers want is for the people who caused it to be located, apprehended, brought to justice, and eventually put behind bars.
