By comparison, 33% of Indians who were born abroad are Muslim, although just 15% of Indians currently reside there.
Though only 2% of Indians identify as Christians, 16% of those who have emigrated are Christians.
India has had a large exodus of Christians and Muslims relative to immigration. A disproportionate number of adherents to smaller religions, such as Jains and Sikhs, have also emigrated from India.”

In 2020, the global migrant population was made up of 47% Christians, 29% Muslims, 5% Hindus, 4% Buddhists, and 1% Jews, as per the Pew Research Center’s study of 270 censuses and surveys along with UN data.
Atheists and agnostics who are not religious make up 13% of migrants worldwide who had left their nation of origin.
From infants to elderly individuals, everyone residing outside of their birthplace is considered a migrant in this analysis. As long as they are living, they may have been born at any time.
